What we collect
Sova collects minimal data to provide the service:
- Sleep journal entries (restedness, onset time, one-word mood) are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to our servers.
- Program progress (which day you're on, completed days) is stored locally.
- Anonymous analytics via Firebase Analytics: screen views, session starts, feature usage. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Crash reports via Sentry: stack traces and device metadata when the app crashes. No user content is included.
What we don't collect
- We don't collect your name, email, or phone number.
- We don't record audio or access your microphone.
- We don't access your contacts, photos, or location.
- We don't sell, share, or monetise your data.
Health data
If you grant permission, Sova may read sleep data from Apple Health or Health Connect to show insights. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Notifications
Sova may send local notifications (bedtime reminders, morning check-in prompts) if you enable them. These are scheduled on-device and do not involve push notification servers.
Third-party services
- Firebase (Google) — anonymous analytics and authentication
- Sentry — crash reporting
- RevenueCat (when enabled) — subscription management
Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.
Data retention
All user-generated data (journal, progress, preferences) is stored locally and can be deleted at any time from the app's Settings page ("Reset all state").
Children
Sova is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
